Earth Day Jubilee | The Trail Conservancy

The Trail Conservancy’s second Earth Day Jubilee is a free, family-friendly community event featuring live music, interactive Earth Day-focused activities, a market by Austin Flea, activities for children, and more!

The event is on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at International Shores from 10 AM to 2 PM.

5th Street Mexican American Heritage Corridor & District

Mexic-Arte Museum, the Downtown Austin Alliance, and the City of Austin are working to earn Cultural Heritage District designation for the 5th Street Mexican American Heritage Corridor. Cinco De Mayo Potluck

May 5, 2024 @ 1:00 - 5:00 pm

The neighbors of the 1900 block of Willow are planning a Cinco De Mayo Potluck celebration. The street will be temporarily closed, and tables will be set for a family-style meal. The potluck will be served at 2 PM, with music and a Flamenco dance performance to follow at 4 PM. All are welcome. Besides a dish to share, people are asked to bring their own beverages and consider a monetary donation. Also welcoming volunteers for setup, staffing buffet, or clean up. Land Use Updates

Centro East Project: 1501 E. 6th Street

The applicant is proposing a 341,408-square-foot development with 260 proposed multifamily units ranging from studios to 3-bedroom units with ground-floor commercial space and is requesting to pay a $2,895,570 fee-in-lieu of on-site affordable housing. The fee request must be approved by City Council.

1307 & 1309 E 4th Street Rezoning Request

The applicant seeks to change the zoning from Live/Work Flex to TOD Mixed Use with a maximum height of 60 feet. 15% of the square footage is dedicated to affordable housing.
